This assignment entailed creating an entire 12" double gatefold LP package for an existing album. I chose to rework "Modern Sounds of American Juju" by HowellDevine, a blues trio from San Francisco. Utilizing various textures and photographic fragments, I illustrated the narrative of an individual approaching a fictional, run-down juke joint. Once the album is opened — a parallel to entering the venue — all of the sights and textures within the fictional venue are revealed and showcased across the internal spread. All of these elements tie together to create a visual representation of the album, and the band as a whole.
